Welcome
GMClans is currently in a transitory period. GMClans' unofficial "successor" site RoboSquid is finally up, and most users are being encouraged to migrate there. But of course, feel free to browse around and explore the GMClans tradition :)

Prepping for RoboSquid
by Serr
The current plan is for the site to go up July 7th. I'm going to spoil some of the surprise by running over what stuff you might want to prepare beforehand if you intend to submit content.
- You're required to upload project files for completed works, so get those ready for any old projects you intend to submit.
- You can submit WIP projects. However WIP files (demos) can't be hosted on RoboSquid. You'll have to host them externally. If you have some WIP projects you want to submit, find a good external host.
- TIP: Try to create high-quality thumbnails for ALL your projects (max size of 140x140). Thumbnails are going to play a huge role in attracting traffic to your projects.
- When hosting externally, RS does NOT allow sites like RapidShare or Megaupload (ie anything that has you wait at an HTML portal first). You must link directly to the file via either HTTP or FTP. This is to ensure quality downloads.
- If you've got a game to submit, grab four (4) good screenshots.
- Games and code can have one YouTube video attached. If you have the time to make a demo video for your game, now would be an excellent time to do it.
- Lastly, if you're an artist with some time, you can make some Visualizer Art. Think of it as Cover Art for your projects. If you can make something high-qual, you'd probably elicit more downloads.
Well, that should cover it. :)
Cheers!
